Williams wird als der Komponist schlechthin f&uuml;r einige der beliebtesten Filmmusiken Hollywoods verehrt. Dies hat eine andere Facette seiner Karriere etwas in den Hintergrund gedr&auml;ngt, die nicht minder bedeutend ist: John Williams als Konzertdirigent. Als Dirigent des Boston Pops Orchestra legitimierte er das Filmmusikrepertoire im Konzertsaal.
